Punjab Youth Internship Program (PYIP) 2015-2016  Eligibility Criteria , No of Internship , Duration , Stipend  and How to Apply for Internship 2015-16

INTRODUCTION

Punjab Youth Internship Program (PYIP) is an initiative of the Government of Punjab to equip the unemployed youth with productive skills to obtain better employment opportunities.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The program is specially designed for the unemployed youth so that they obtain basic training to enhance their skills, which shall facilitate in a secure livelihood in the long term. It will assist the interns to get hands on experience and enable them to apply their theoretical knowledge acquired in their educational institutes. PYIP will benefit 25,000 fresh graduates who shall also receive a monthly stipend for the duration of this internship.

The Program is open to the Unemployed Youth who fulfil the listed criteria:
Age should be between 18 to 30 years
Must have completed 16 years of education OR
Technical/Vocational Diploma holders, Sub-Engineers, Health Technicians, Paramedics, Agriculture & Livestock Technicians
Must have HEC/Technical Boards recognized Degree/Diploma attained from a Local, Foreign, Government or Private institute
Must have Domicile of The Punjab Province
Must have a valid CNIC or Form B
Must have passed out in the year 2012 or onwards.
SALIENT FEATURES

The salient feature of this internship program is that the applicants can choose a relevant internship position based on their academic qualifications and interest area, from amongst the available options/demands made by the private/public sector organizations/institutes.
DURATION

The duration of the internship will be 6 months.
STIPEND

The interns will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 15,000/- during the internship through Easy Pay Card.

Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme Some Changes have Been Made: Prime Minister’s ‘Youth Business Loans’ Scheme are being launched from December 10, 2013

 

  • ISLAMABAD Prime Minister’s ‘Youth Business Loans’ are being launched from December 10, 2013 to help young entrepreneurs initiate their own businesses. The Government has allocated five billion rupees for the scheme for the current financial year.
  • It is designed to provide subsidised financing at eight percent mark-up per annum for one hundred thousand beneficiaries through National Bank of Pakistan and First Women Bank.

    Those falling in the age group of 21 and 45 years are eligible to apply for loans from one hundred thousand to two million rupees.

    The following two changes have been made:

    1. The scheme will start from December5, 2013 instead of earlier announced date which was December2, 2013.
    2. The age limit has been changed. The minimum age must be 21 years and maximum allowed age at the time of application is 45 years. Previously the upper age limit was 35 years.

    Small business loans with tenure up to seven years, and a debt-equity ratio of 90:10 will be disbursed to SME beneficiaries across Pakistan including four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

    SMEDA has been tasked with an advisory role in the implementation of Prime Minister’s scheme by providing more than fifty updated pre-feasibility for referencing by the beneficiaries and participating banks to optimally utilize their financial resources.

    SMEDA has prepared pre-feasibility studies in fifteen sectors, which are available to new start-up SMEs, through the SMEDA website. These studies provide a general understanding of the proposed business and are structured like a business plan.
